Douglas Funeral Directors, Ballynahinch
Douglas Funeral Directors is an independent, family-run business. For over 95 years it has provided high quality funeral services to the families of Ballynahinch and the surrounding areas.
The business was established by Hugh Robinson Douglas in 1926. Hugh’s son, Billy began working with his father at age 14 and continued in the business until his retirement.
In 1991, Billy’s nephew, Bill Reid and his wife, Anne purchased Douglas Funeral Directors. With much hard work and dedication, Bill and Anne have continued the family tradition and upheld the business’s excellent reputation which has been established over many years. Their son, Douglas is also now involved in the business, making him the fourth generation of family serving family.
Bill and Anne invested in the construction of a new, purpose-built funeral home in 2013, featuring a welcoming foyer and office area, a spacious funeral church with comfortable seating for up to 150 people and audio/visual recording facility, private rest rooms and ample onsite parking. This shows evidence of the ‘Douglas Commitment’ to the local community.
The team at Douglas Funeral Directors strives to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and care. The staff are expertly trained and committed to providing a sympathetic and compassionate service at all times. Never wanting to become complacent, the family team also ensures it keeps abreast of changes within the profession, enabling the business to maintain the vital and trusted role it holds within the community.
As a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, Douglas Funeral Directors adheres to a recognised industry Code of Practice. This ensures that each and every funeral service is carried out to the highest professional standards, for your peace of mind.
