The independent firm was founded in 1904 by Merrill Stubbins, a local businessman, builder and carpenter. Merrill originally started making coffins in Carr Vale, before moving to the High Street, which remains home to the business today. Over the years, Stubbins & Hope Funeral Directors has grown and developed into a comprehensive funeral firm, offering a complete range of services. Today it is owned and managed by Susan and Simon, the fourth generation of the family. Together with their dedicated team of professional staff, they are pleased to continue to providing a high quality service to local families.
