Based in Dronfield, Alfred Dunham & Son Ltd is a family-run funeral directors, proud to have served the local population for over 100 years.

The business was founded in 1919 by the late Alfred Dunham, a local joiner, who started out making coffins for local funeral directors. Over the years, as the area changed, the business found itself expanding. Having built a respectable reputation amongst the local community, Alfred began taking on the duties of organising and arranging funerals for all those who sought them.

In the years that passed, Alfred’s son, John Dunham joined and took over the business, before passing it to his son, David. To this day, David continues his grandfather’s proud traditions, offering a compassionate and dignified funeral service to local families.

As a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors, Alfred Dunham & Son Ltd adheres to a strict Code of Practice. This ensures each and every funeral service is carried out to the highest professional standards, for your peace of mind.

Choosing your funeral plan – important information

You can buy a plan for yourself or on behalf of someone else. The funeral plans offered are designed to cover the funeral director's own costs. As long as they carry out the funeral and the requirements don't change, neither you nor your family will be asked to pay a penny more for these costs, regardless of when the plan is needed or what happens to costs in the meantime.

The plans can also include a contribution towards any third party costs (also known as disbursements), such as burial or cremation costs. Please refer to the Key Features Document and Terms and Conditions for more information.
