Funeral Planning Services is an independent British company specialising in the administration of funeral prepayment plans.  Since it was established in 1995, the company has enabled thousands of people to pay for a funeral in advance, with the knowlege that their payments will be held securely until required. 

Funeral Planning Services works in partnership with independently-owned, family-run funeral directors throughout the UK who provide a caring and personal service whenever the need arises.  We are proud to support the charity Cruse Bereavement Care.

GRAHAM WILLIAMS MBA, Managing Director

Graham has over twenty years' experience of working with funeral prepayment plans and was one of the founding Directors of Funeral Planning Services Ltd. "We take pride in providing an efficient and cost-effective service for our clients and business partners,"  says Graham. Previously he was Head of Marketing with Age Concern England and is currently Chairman of The National Association for Prepaid Funeral Plans

 

Carol Nichols, Office Manager

Carol joined Funeral Planning Services in 2007.  Previously Carol managed a customer services centre for Norwich Union (since renamed Aviva).  "Funeral plan clients have similar concerns to life assurance and pensions clients," says Carol, "but the nice thing about Funeral Planning Services is that we can give a much more personal service than a huge insurance company.  I never worked with Funeral Directors before coming here and I have to say they are great to work with, and a lot more cheerful than I expected!"

 

 

NICHOLAS TAYLOR Dip FD, Chairman

The Taylor family provided funeral services since 1890 when Nicholas's great grandfather began in Norwich.  "To serve others in need, to the very best of my ability, has always given me deep satisfaction," says Nick, "and to have listened to the life stories of over 5,000 people is a rare privilege."  After many years as a practicing Funeral Director, Nick is now Managing Director of Woodland Burrial Parks, an award-winning woodland burial company with three pioneering burial parks in Norwich, Epping and Beaconsfield, which are run on environmentally-friendly principles.


 

 

Penny Hubbard, Regional Development Manager

Penny has fourteen years' experience of working with Funeral Directors and Funeral Prepayment Plans.  "Funeral Directors like working with Funeral Planning Services," says Penny, "because they can develop their own local plan, branded with the name of their business and with prices to suit their local market."


 

 

COLIN FIELD Dip FD, JP, Director

Colin Field is Chairman of CPJ Field & Company Ltd, an independent family-run funeral business. The Field family have been involved with the care of the bereaved continuously since 1690 and Colin himself has over 30 years experience in the Funeral Profession. Colin Field is a Past President of The National Association of Funeral Directors and Honorary President of the European Federation of Funeral Services.

 

 

Ros Barrie, Financial Administrator

Ros joined Funeral Planning Services shortly after the company was formed, having previously worked for a building society.  "One of my main responsibilities is to ensure that the relevant documents are submitted to the trustees every month to confirm which funerals have taken place and then to make sure that the Funeral Directors' invoices are paid promptly and correctly."


 

 

JULIAN MOBBS FCA, JP, Director

Julian is a Justice of the Peace in Norwich and, until he retired as an accountant, was Chairman of Larking Gowen, one of the leading independent firms of chartered accountants in the UK with offices throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.


 

 

RICHARD SMITHIES LLB (Hons), Director and Company Secretary

Richard is the senior partner of Bearders Solicitors, a long-established family law firm serving Halifax and West Yorkshire. Richard is a committee member of the Law Society Probate Section and is Chairman of The Bearder Charity, which benefits the people of Calderdale.  He was also joint creator of the specialist legal information website www.gardenlaw.co.uk.
